The Port Aransas Mustang Island Corpus Christi North Padre Area
Port Aransas and Mustang Island offer views of the Gulf of Mexico and Corpus Christi Bay. The Island is also home to Mustang Island State Park which protects miles of the natural surroundings.

Beachfront real estate is considered a sound investment because it always retains value, even in economic downturns, and rebounds quickly even after natural disasters. The new developments in the area are considered upscale and ideal for retiring baby boomers, vacationers and second-home buyers.

Mustang Island has the Natural beauty of the Gulf of Mexico, the Corpus Christi Bay and includes our large state park that preserves the natural landscapes. The Island has a subtropical climate and the waters remain warm and the temperatures here are warm to mild throughout the entire year. The large bodies of water on both sides of us, provide the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets and make us the envy of beachfront property owners worldwide.

While most people come to Mustang Island to enjoy the beach and bay for boating, fishing and swimming, we also have bird watching, horseback riding, hiking, golfing, gulf cart riding, kiting, scuba diving, tours, off-shore gambling and more.

Located just outside of Corpus Christi, Mustang Island Texas offers the appeals of oceanfront paradise with proximity to a big city. You have the best of both worlds and easy access to big city cultural events, shopping, dining, galleries and more. Mustang Island joins North Padre Island at its southern end.

Port Aransas
Port Aransas is a city in Nueces County, Texas, United States, on Mustang Island, across Aransas Bay from the City of Aransas Pass. The population was 3,370 at the 2000 census, however, because of its beautiful beaches, world class fishing and affordable accommodations, Port Aransas is one of the most popular vacation spots in Texas.

Mustang Island
Mustang Island is a barrier island on the Gulf Coast of Texas in the United States. The island is 18 miles long, stretching from Corpus Christi to Port Aransas.

The island is oriented generally northeast-southwest, with the Gulf of Mexico on the east and south, and Corpus Christi Bay on the north and west. The island's southern end connects by roadway to Padre Island.

At the northern end of the island is Aransas Pass, beyond which is San José Island (also known as Saint Joseph Island). Aransas Pass is protected by jetties extending into the Gulf from both Mustang Island and San José Island.

Mustang Island is a coastal barrier island with a unique and complicated ecosystem, dependent upon sand dunes. Coastal dunes are the product of wind-deposited sand anchored by sparse mats of vegetation. The height of well-vegetated dunes may reach 35 feet, though 15-20 feet is average.

The dunes are capable of reducing the destructive might of hurricane-driven waves and protecting bay and mainland areas. In some areas, inland and bayside dunes occur, which are generally smaller but spread over larger areas than the primary beach-side dunes.

The vegetation holding the dunes in place is drought-resistant species such as sea oats, beach panic grass, and soilbind morning glory. Studies have shown that these plants and their progeny can collect enough sand to build a 15-foot dune in three years.
North Padre Island
Padre Island (the world's longest barrier island) is part of the U.S. state of Texas. The island is located on Texas' southern coast of the Gulf of Mexico and is famous for its white sandy beaches.

Padre Island is the second largest island by area in the contiguous United States, after Long Island. It is about 130 miles long, stretching from the city of Corpus Christi, in the north, to the resort community of South Padre Island in the south. The island is oriented generally north-south, with the Gulf of Mexico on the east, and Laguna Madre on the west. The island's northern end connects to Mustang Island by roadway.
Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi is a coastal city in the South Texas region of the U.S. state of Texas. The county seat of Nueces County, it also extends into Aransas, Kleberg, and San Patricio counties. The population was 277,454 at the 2000 census; in 2006 the US Census Bureau estimated the city's population at 285,175, making it the eighth-largest city in the state.

It is the principal city of the three-county Corpus Christi Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger Corpus Christi-Kingsville Combined Statistical Area. The translation from Latin of the city's name is Body of Christ, given to the settlement by the Spanish, in honor of the Blessed Sacrament (Eucharist).

The city has been nicknamed The Sparkling City by the Sea, particularly in literature promoting tourism.

The city is home to the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi and is served by the Corpus Christi International Airport.
