Southern Living has chosen Cinnamon Shore on Mustang Island/Port Aransas for the 2009 Idea Home.  The beach front home is currently under construction with a projected completion date of May.  A short feature will appear in the June addition of Southern Living and the home will be open for viewing from June through September 27.  Southern Living Magazine will feature this home and another Idea home in Georgia in the August issue with approximately 30 pages devoted to these houses.   The Idea house will expose Port Aransas, Mustang Island, and Cinnamon Shore to 16 million readers with coverage in the magazine, on line, and on-site visits.  Zack Turicchi of Keystone Company is the builder for this home.

The Idea Home will feature Gulf of Mexico views from all floors.  The home is approximately 3700 sq.ft. with 5 bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths, with 2 master bedrooms, 3 story loft area with built-in bunks and open game room, multi level porches with Gulf views, 2 outdoor fireplaces, separate canoe house with guest quarters above and Viking appliances throughout the home.  Tours of the home will be offered beginning June 6.  Admission to the house will cost $5 with $2 of the admission price going to the local Port Aransas Education Foundation.  

Derick Belden, executive editor of Southern Living Homes and Gardens,  said Cinnamon Shore was chosen because of the uniqueness and beauty of Port Aransas and the Cinnamon Shore development.  Cinnamon Shore is a 64 acre master-planned community which will include 300 homes and condominiums, a town center with shops, restaurants, office space and pedestrian friendly amenities and recreational facilities.  Over 30 homes are already complete or under construction in Cinnamon Shore and the pool house is under construction.
