Labor Day weekend is here! This holiday weekend marks the official end of summer and beginning of the fall season. The number of Port Aransas visitor arrivals have exceeded last year's numbers by 40%. While we can expect smaller crowds and the weather to cool down, the island will be alive and bustling thanks to the upcoming special events.
As we head into September, we can look forward to enjoying live music events like Beachtoberfest on Sept. 13-20th and Port A Music Fest on Oct. 4-5th which will bring in artists like Micky and the Motorcars and Abbi Walker.
Or if you're a fan of incredible food, you'll want to make your way down to Port Aransas for the Texas Super Chef Throwdown Series on Sept. 18-21, where Texas chefs will compete in the World Food Championships, and tickets are available for visitors to get in on the action.
The Port Aransas real estate market is holding strong. July saw the median home price up 3.6% from last July, and the closed sales were up 58.3% from July 2018. A fortunate market rebound from Hurricane Harvey just two years earlier.
