The 2019 real estate year is wrapping up! The Port Aransas market report indicates the median home price has increased by 28.7% from last year, at $460,000. Active listings are up 16.6%, which is common with the holiday season. Days on market at 137 which is 74 days more than November 2018. Homes priced from $400K - $499K and the $500K-$599K account for half of closed sales in November 2019.

If you haven’t been down to the island in a while, even in one short year, you’ll notice plenty of new buildings, new businesses and more to come. The City of Port Aransas has issued 31 commercial building permits so far this year, which is more than any one year in the past 9 years. Many of those commercial permits went to businesses that to had rebuild after Hurricane Harvey demolished what was once there. The damage and destruction from Hurricane Harvey was immense. Economically, the total estimated loss was $125 billion and 204,000 homes received storm damage according the National Hurricane Center But, we bounced back. The Port Aransas Rotary Charity Golf Tournament took place on October 10th, and Port Aransas Realty came out to support the event. Players made their way to Palmilla Beach Golf Resort with a shotgun tee time of 10am. Port Aransas Realty sponsored a hole for the event and several agents were spotted on the golf course and in and around Palmilla Beach Resort. The Golf tournament benefitted the Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church Day School in Port Aransas. Every year, the Port Aransas Education Foundation (PAEF) puts on a large community fundraising event for Port Aransas ISD. "Casino Night" took place October 4, and a few of our fellow agents made their way out to the event. Prizes included a wine pairing dinner for 8 at the local restaurant the Phoenix, Houston Texans tickets, an airplane ride over Port Aransas, a flounder gigging trip and more! The PAEF is a 501 C3 non-profit organization committed to actively seeking community support to promote educational excellence within the Port Aransas Independent School District. The PAEF raised $182,500 from this event this year!

Labor Day weekend is here! This holiday weekend marks the official end of summer and beginning of the fall season. The number of Port Aransas visitor arrivals have exceeded last year's numbers by 40%. While we can expect smaller crowds and the weather to cool down, the island will be alive and bustling thanks to the upcoming special events.
